ASNY Secures Grant Funding for the Village of Mineola

Alternative Solutions of New York, a consultancy that provides innovative solutions for customers looking to embrace sustainable practices, secured ARRA Grant funding for the incorporated Village of Mineola to build a 50kW solar photvoltaic system. The site of the proposed project is the Department of Public Works (DPW) “Central Garage.” This location houses the Village Sanitation, Water, Sewer, Highway, and Parks Departments. The department and their staff members provide essential services for Village residents upon which they rely.

Two of the primary concerns of the Village of Mineola are managing operating costs and improving the quality of life of its residents. Often times, these two objectives conflict with one another. However, by implementing renewable energy technologies, the Village can achieve both of these goals.

In interviewing key stakeholders of the Village, they were looking for a way to embrace renewable energy to demonstrate environmental stewardship while at the same time mitigating some of the operating costs of the Village’s critical functions.
